We’ve just returned from the BETT exhibition in London, where we revealed our plans for a next generation course management system for K12 schools.

Although this hasn’t yet reached market, we’re really excited by it – and were pleased to be able to give visitors and delegates at BETT a sneak preview. We’d love to also share some of those early details with you…

Fundamentally, this new course management system from ITWORX Education will bring together many of the other tools we have previously created; integrate them in one place and one solution; add several new tools – and then marry everything to the latest learning and teaching techniques. Result: the perfect complete system for students, teachers and schools. For those students and teachers, the overall benefits of using the course management system include a gamified learning experience, a recommendation system, a collaborative and social platform, the ability to build study plans and manage workloads across activity cycles. The system also provides plagiarism detection, analytics and reporting, plus a host of additional features.

office365The key advantage of this new system is Office 365 compatibility – please have a read of our previous blog on this subjects for more details. These features stem from our strong belief that these approaches now have the critical mass in the sector and among users to clearly be the future for educational technology across the world. They are also continued extensions of our role as Microsoft’s 2014 Partner of the Year for Public Sector Education, as we look to develop new tools that utilise Microsoft’s systems – with their advantages of being universal, cost-effective and mobile – to the specific needs of teachers and students.

The system will also incorporate the latest technologies and techniques. Particular innovations that we’re developing include the ability for learning and teaching personalisation, plus an exciting use of gamification at key points. The system will also be multilingual throughout, to maximize its appeal across markets.

Our aim is to complete development soon, and roll out a commercially-available version within the next few months. We’ll keep you posted – especially as we intend to refine the first two releases using customer feedback, so everyone’s input will be welcome.
